That was the Long Night of Museums 2026
On the 29th of August 2026, fitting to the theme of “crime”, 75 museums invited the public to talks with investigators, readings with crime thriller writers, live true crime podcasts and detective puzzlehunts. They opened their archives and basements, presented performances and concerts on rooftops and forecourts, in churches and lecture theatres. More than 50,000 Berliners and visitors to Berlin attended and were captivated by collections, exhibitions and silent films. They completed quests, danced the Charleston and swing, or sang at the Crime Karaoke late into the night. It was a long, late summer night with plenty of new discoveries!
The Long Night of Museums will celebrate its 30-year anniversary on the 28th of August 2027.
