The permanent exhibition is barrier-free, only the Trabi level can only be reached via stairs because it is located on the Spree promenade.
The DDR Museum makes tangible the history of former East Germany. The everyday world in the German Democratic Republic (GDR) is brought back to life – from the typical flat in a concrete high-rise block with all the comforts of home, like the Karat wall unit and retro wallpaper, right through to Stasi eavesdropping methods. The Trabi driving simulator is pure nostalgia – for former GDR residents and other visitors alike.
