Berliner Unterwelten e.V. – Humboldthain Flak Tower

Waiting times on site
  • Open from 18:00 until 22:00
  • As part of the Long Night of Museums, entry to the sound and light installation “Seafoam Palace presents ‘Roadside Picnic’” is only possible with a valid Long Night of Museums ticket and an additional free time-slot ticket. The time-slot tickets are already fully booked.

  • Participants must be at least 18 years of age! Participation only with suitable shoes: tight fit on the foot (toes and heel closed, stable sole with profile). Warm clothing recommended. Bring a torch. Helmets are provided. No toilet on site.

The flak tower is not barrier-free due to the structural conditions. There are numerous stairs, some of which are steep.

Monstrous flak towers were built in the 1940s as a defence against Allied air raids and as a shelter for the population. Most of them were demolished after the war. The Humboldthain Flak Tower had long been buried under a mountain of rubble until the association Berliner Unterwelten e.V. made it accessible again to the public in 2003.
