Lovesickness is not a new phenomenon. Medical historian Rainer Herrn talks about Magnus Hirschfeld's Institute for Sexual Science (1919), which was dedicated to ‘love and suffering’ - with counselling services for sexual issues as well as theoretical insights and therapeutic approaches.
