  • Open from 20:00 until 00:00

  • The observatory opens at 8 pm. However, guided tours of the Insulaner hill take place earlier, at 6 pm and 7:15 pm. Meeting point for the tours: in front of the observatory at the top of the Insulaner hill.  

Unfortunately, the Wilhelm Foerster Observatory is not barrier-free.

The Wilhelm Foerster Observatory is a combination of public observatory and large planetarium that is unique in Europe. On clear nights, visitors to the observatory on the rubble mountain Insulaner can discover planets, moons and galaxies. The planetarium is currently closed due to renovation and modernisation.
