Martin Heinrich Klaproth (1743-1817) is one of the co-founders of modern analytical chemistry. He discovered/confirmed eight chemical elements – the most well-known being uranium. His collection of samples of element and mineral discoveries was purchased by the University of Berlin after his death in 1817.
