Street views: text and drawing workshop
We experiment with words and drawings. The starting point is Akinbode Akinbiyi's exhibition ‘Being, Seeing, Wandering’. In his photographs, Akinbode Akinbiyi tells stories that he encounters while walking through the city. We want to go in search of them with you.
You will look for motifs in Akinbode Akinbiyi's photographs on the theme of ‘Encounters’.
You can design and collage what you have collected. The result will be a booklet that you can reproduce and take away with you.
A tactile floor guidance system leads to the cash desk, checkroom, elevator, toilets and through the permanent exhibition on the second floor. You can also borrow a tactile room plan free of charge from the ticket office.Guide dogs for the blind are allowed in the museum. The Berlinische Galerie offers an inclusive audio guide as an app and web version for 17 works of art in the permanent exhibition. The app automatically triggers all audio contributions, enabling blind and visually impaired people to navigate through the exhibition independently. All audio contributions are also available as text versions.Seven main works can be experienced tactilely.Tactile models made of different materials such as felt, textile or wood convey a plastic-material impression of the respective original. All exhibition texts are available in large print.
The Berlinische Galerie is accessible for visitors with reduced mobility. In principle, the museum building, all exhibition and event rooms and Café Dix are wheelchair-accessible.The entrance to the museum is at ground level. You will find a power-assisted door about 5 m after the main entrance on the right-hand side of the glass front. The cash desk is not wheelchair accessible, communication is possible while seated.Special exhibitions are presented on the first floor. The exhibition rooms on the 1st floor can be reached via a wheelchair-accessible elevator.
