Human Sacrifice at the Lake – the Dark Secret of the Celts
Fog hangs over a boggy spot on Lake Neuchâtel. A procession of priests, women and warriors approaches on a jetty, sinking their most valuable objects into the lake. Off with his head - human sacrifices were also part of it. Thus, in addition to weapons and jewellery, severed heads and human sacrifices are also found as offerings in sanctuaries.
The name of the place where these Celtic gifts to the gods were found, called Latène, became synonymous with an entire culture, the Latène culture.
