The World's Oldest Bass Tuba

The bass tuba was developed in 1835 by the Berlin instrument maker Johann Gottfried Moritz. The Musikinstrumenten-Museum owns one such instrument from his workshop, making it the oldest bass tuba in the world. The curator of the current special exhibition "Deep Brass” explains the special features of its construction and guides visitors through the exhibition.
