The new Museo-Mat – a playful online tool that recommended events based on a short personality test – on the website proved a helpful guide through the vast programme. Many began their evening at the Museumsinsel meeting point, enjoying Scottish folk music and traditional Indian sounds in the warm summer twilight. Night owls marvelled at curious recent discoveries in the Samurai Museum and the Stasi Museum, cracked codes and learned secret scripts, thrilled to crime stories and ghost tales, and explored crypts and bunkers. Around midnight, the Late Night Specials drew in thousands more: people danced salsa with abandon at the German Historical Museum, sang karaoke outside the Futurium, and watched the voguing ball shake the Museum for Communication. Meanwhile, the Berlin Museum of Medical History hosted a haunting musical performance in its ruined lecture hall. # Participating Museums 2024 From classical art to mysterious natural phenomena, from hidden stories to the vibrant diversity of Berlin’s urban culture – 75 museums across the city opened their doors and showcased their programmes.
